haven't posted lifedrawing in a while.. so here's a quick dump of recent lifedrawing sketches..
I've been drawing mostly in my moleskines now... so the sketches are alot smaller than what they used to be. and experimenting with various renderings... might go back to newsprint after I've depleted my current moleskines stash.

it's rare for me to draw myself... so i thought this warranted a post on its own haha. so that's me in my hoodie and my speech bubble/egg/testicle thing I've been using a lot of lately in my sketches.

sketchbook stuff

some sketchbook stuff from earlier this year...been trying to develop a personal style, if you will, over the course of several sketchbooks now... and am sort of seeing a direction i wouldn't mind exploring more of... the girl on the moped was part of a sketchgroup theme "Intense chick on moped". i liked how she turned out so did a couple of more angles of her.might paint that on canvas when i get a chance.. I've also been doing alot of bodysuits lately.. not really evangelion but definitely inspired by it..

Nintendo Power cover Apr 2010

Here's a cover i did for the Nintendo Power April 2010 issue. Apparently this is the first time Nintendo Power's let anyone change their mast head... so it was a SUPER HUGE deal that they were open on that and letting us modify it in a Scribblenauts style!

PAX '09 Hatena Flipnotes

Here are my Flipnotes I did at the Nintendo Flipnote booth last year at PAX. it's finally up on the Hatena website. As you can see.. i'm not the best animator... but it was really fun putting these together. i think they were about 1 hour each.

belated Olypmic update - some pictures i took of the craziness that was Robson Square right after the gold medal Hockey game.

first update of 2010....

Long overdue update... The olympics was pretty crazy here in Vancouver. That gold medal Hockey game was super intense. heart stopped for a few seconds towards the end, but am relieved team Canada pulled through! have several projects currently underway... I've been sketchin' alot in my sketchbook and have been lazy to scan my stuff.. but will post some of them here soon.

In light of Scribblenauts 2's announcement this week... here's look at a painting i'm currently working on for fun...planning to hang it in my office once i'm done. not much of an update, but it's a start. need to get back into it.


A side note: Cloudscape has launched the Exploded View anthology on Saturday (yesterday) at the Ayden Gallery in Tinseltown. Great turnout. And will followup with a booth at the Emerald City Con next weekend!

Vancouver Sketchgroup, which I frequent, will also have a booth at ECC! and will feature a compilation sketchbook of the members of VSG. You can also meet some of us there!

Sketchcrawl #25

The 25th World Wide Sketchcrawl 5th Anniversary! took place on Granville Island. Started off at the Netloft... moved to the Public Market... and ended at Emily Carr University. It was raining the whole time, so we stayed indoors, but it was really nice drawing at the public market. There were musicians, musicians, children, grocers, vendors, tourists, students, and artists busying about the lunch hour. some even danced to the music, which was interesting to watch. Not the best weather to be doing a crawl but we made the best of it. looking forward to the next one.

Cloudscape Comic Character...Shin

I'm a contributing artist to a local comicbook anthology Cloudscape and am basing my story on this char... not really sure what to name him/it yet... tentatively callin' him Shin.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter is finally out! at least in Australia for now... but unlike the first Drawn to Life.. this one features an Opening and Ending Sequence! (OPENING: Story written by Jeremiah, Animations by Paul, music by David J Franco, and Storyboards/Backgrounds by me)... (ENDING: not shown in the clip but done by the talented Braid Artist, David Hellman).
